GUAVA was honored to participated in the United Nations Environment Programme and World Tourism Organization’s Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, where our CEO Gabriel Tan shared comprehensive insights into the company’s sustainable transformation and leadership in addressing plastics pollution in the tourism sector.
GUAVA outlined the environmental imperative behind reducing single-use plastics—highlighting that a 200-room hotel can generate around 300,000 pieces of single-use plastic per month, with industry-wide impacts exceeding 10 billion items of waste globally.
Gabriel Tan emphasized GUAVA’s holistic approach—integrating sustainability into business fundamentals, leveraging a global network of strategic partners to decentralize manufacturing, and designing solutions that balance environmental benefit with economic viability.
